But for someone, an incredible length is given by nature. A few years ago, a little Tajik, Muin Bachonaev, entered the Guinness Book of Records as a child with the longest eyelashes in the world. Then they reached 4 cm in length. The most interesting thing is that eyelashes continue to grow so far, and it seems that they do not interfere with their owner at all.

Muin Bachonaev struck his parents immediately after birth. The eyelashes of the newborn baby were so long that they seemed to prevent him from opening his eyes. The child was immediately sent for a consultation with doctors. However, neither the oculist nor the geneticist found any abnormalities and pathologies in development.

The boy really grew up absolutely healthy, and did not stand out among his peers. There was only one difference: every year his eyelashes «added» in length from 3 to 5 millimeters. When the child was 3 years old, they reached 4 cm and already literally “lay down” on the eyebrows and cheeks. Then the parents got worried again, and took the baby for examination.

Cornelia de Lange syndrome was suspected at the Institute of Genetics at the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences. This is a congenital disease, which is characterized by very thick hairline, fused eyebrows and long curved eyelashes. In addition, the disease is accompanied by mental retardation and problems of physical development. However, Muin did not record anything of the kind. Doctors came to the conclusion that the child’s long eyelashes are a pronounced manifestation of ethnic characteristics. Both parents of Muin Bachonaev are Tajiks, and this people is characterized by thick hair on the face and on the body.

Thanks to his peculiarity, the boy became a real celebrity. He has already been entered in the Russian Book of Records as the absolute owner of the longest eyelashes in the country. In addition, the boy got into the Guinness Book of Records as the child with the longest eyelashes in the world. True, he is still far from the world record: among adult men, the longest eyelashes «belong» to the American Stuart Muller from Florida, USA. Their length is 6.99 cm.

Muin’s parents are sure that as soon as the boy reaches adulthood, he will be able to break the world record. Now the child is 14 years old, and his eyelashes have already grown to 6 cm. Even though this is an atypical decoration for a man, Muin is proud of his appearance. The teenager does not intend to cut his eyelashes, because he has long been accustomed to his peculiarity, and it does not at all prevent him from studying, playing football and leading the life of an ordinary boy.

By the way, Ukraine also has its record holder for long eyelashes. This is Valery Smagliy from Kiev, who managed to “grow” a 3 cm long jewelry. Interestingly, this is not an innate feature of the body — the man’s eyelashes began to lengthen after he sat on a special diet. Valery keeps the diet itself a secret, because he expects to profitably sell it to cosmetic companies. But he complains about his eyelashes — he says that they prevent him from looking and strain his eyelids a lot.
